Alder and Dash are the harsh and evil principals of Scare School. They are a two-headed creature with distinct personalities, and the main antagonists of the pilot film. They hate kindness and are always up to mischief in order to get along or to punish someone.

Biography[]

In the past, Alder and Dash were friendly creatures just like Casper, however, after their ancle were banished by Kibosh to the Valley of the Shadows, the trauma they experienced made them evil until they completely despised kindness. Some time later, Kibosh makes them work as principals of the Scare School, which they initially hate, and what they really wanted was to be able to go out and scare the humans, but Kibosh always refused to transfer them.

In the movie, they end up creating a stoner weapon to get rid of Kibosh, in order to dominate the human world, and they take all the students and employees with them to carry out this plan. During all the chaos caused by them and their students in Deedstown, they are stopped by Casper and his friends, and for the first time in years see their ancle again, who tells them to end all the mischief they have done.

Appearance[]

Alder and Dash are differed only by their heads, which are both attached to the body, with Alder having a shorter, flatter head, while Dash has a higher, longer head. Alder is bald and has green eyes, orange eyebrows, and wears gray goggles, a black tie, and a red fez hat. Dash has dark brown eyes, a slightly wrinkled face, and spiky orange hair on the sides, and wears a black butterfly tie and a graduation hat.

Their clothing consists of a scaly purple robe with a high collar and a red interior over a white shirt. They also have tentacles for limbs, having two on each arm side, and a number of tentacles around their body to move around.

In the movie, their robe was brown with a yellow button in the middle. Alder's goggles were darker and Dash's eyes were light orange, while his eyebrows were dark blue instead of orange.

Personality[]

The duo's main trait is their great obsession with evil, being very mean, threatening and rude to almost everyone around them, including their students and even their teachers, taking advantage of their power as principals to intimidate them. Another example of his evil nature is his desperate desire to punish any of his students, regardless of the size of the situation, which shows their sadistic nature.

Their addiction to evil also makes them always choose and go for the "bad" side of things, wanting their school to look as dirty and unpleasant as possible; sometimes it gets to the point where they themselves are confused by this vision, wondering if they think a certain bad thing is good or not. Just as they despise their students, they are despised by them, because of their completely executioner and authoritarian behavior.

Overall, the two are similar in terms of personality, but there are still some traits that set them apart; Alder is more laid back, incompetent, immature and somewhat "stupid", although he is still smart enough to come up with ideas that might be approved by Dash, who is almost as mean and authoritarian as he is, as well as being more serious and evil, to the point of suggesting that they come up with a plan to end Kibosh, and also proves to be much more competent and intelligent than Alder. The only difference already shown in their tastes and interests is that Alder likes magic and Dash on the other hand likes music, which was revealed by his aunt and uncle in the movie.

In "Rich Kid Ra", they, along with Thatch and his clique, manipulate Ra, treating him with more respect, to take possession of his riches, so much so that they begin to totally destroy his room with the intention of rebuilding it. la with more expensive things before they even get Ra's money, which shows that they are also quite greedy.

Despite everything, the two have at least shown themselves to be fair and competent in relation to their job as a principal, rewarding students who passed such a task given to them and ensuring that everyone succeeds in scaring as well as wishing their school pass Kibosh's assessment in "The Day The Professor Croaked", to the point where they allow one of their teachers to mock themselves to satisfy Kibosh. It is notable that her malevolent and mean-spirited behavior has diminished considerably in the second season, where her antagonistic role is replaced by Thatch.

Early Life[]

Alder and Dash were totally different in their childhood, being very friendly and cheerful, who liked to spend their time having fun with their aunt and uncle's songs and tricks. They were the exact opposite of what they are now and quite similar to Casper, whom they greatly despise for his friendly demeanor, which shows them to be hypocrites as well. Their behavior in the past eventually led to their uncles being punished to the Valley of the Shadows by Kibosh, who also later left them in the position of principals at Scare School. All these happenings regarding his family are probably the reason why they hate Kibosh.

It is not known for certain when their current executioner behavior began to take hold of them, but it can be assumed that their uncles' punishment and Kibosh's warning encouraged them to start going down that path.

Relationships[]

Quasi[]

Like almost all the students, Quasi was shown to dislike the principals for their mean behavior towards the students.

In "Ring My Bell", Quasi is constantly tormented by them, being forced to do them favors and various tasks at the same time, so, with Casper's help, Quasi demands more respect from them, as well as more time for homework and a new mop, and goes on strike. Quasi's demands are finally met by them later after executing his and Casper's plan.

In "The Bellyache Mystery", Alder and Dash showed concern for him after the rumor that he was eaten by the Sea Monster, thus giving the students the task of rescuing him to later punish the Sea Monster, making Quasi one of the few students whom the principals have shown to care about.

When Quasi finally appears back at school after revealing his secret of wanting to be a dancer, they almost punish him when they see him wearing a pink costume, but are tricked by Casper, who confuses saying that it was actually a "new scare trick", so they demand that Quasi show the trick.

He ends up demonstrating his dancing to them, who actually end up freaking out after Quasi's pants rip during the dance.
