The Scare Day is the third episode of Season One and the third overall episode of the series, that aired on October 6, 2009.
Synopsis[]
Mantha is having trouble with one of her arms, which is acting alone and causing problems, and so she ends up choosing replacement arms, which end up scaring the other students and raising suspicions that she is guilty of something.
Plot[]
While Mantha is choosing her lunch in the cafeteria, one of her arms gets loose and steals a pie, which ends up breaking after Mantha and Casper try to catch her arm, so when Casper clarifies Mantha's situation to the Cafeteria Thing, she ends up embarrassing herself after being looked at by the other students. Mantha explains to Casper and Ra about her situation and about her losing control of her arm, and Ra then suggests changing her arm.
After Mantha goes through more problems due to her arm, including getting into an argument with a teacher, Alder and Dash tell her to go to the nurse to see if she can fix the problem. The nurse says that the problem in Mantha's arm is something natural to zombies, and suggests that she try another type of arm for the time being. Mantha ends up choosing a ghastly tentacle arm, which ends up scaring the students and teachers.
At bedtime, Quasi wakes up the boys to show them something after he overhears the gargoyles. Casper, Ra, Thatch, Wolfie and Blodge follow Quasi to a place outside the school where a large mocking drawing of Alder and Dash is painted, which ends up being discovered by them the next day, and then they call the Ghostly Trio who were working as some kind of trouble fixers to get the painting off the wall.
Casper and the other students begin to think that this has something to do with Mantha's new arm, so he, Ra and Wolfie go to ask her about it, to which she replies negatively and also reveals that she is going to replace her new arm again because it "snores". Then Mantha is later seen in history class, again with a new arm, which this time is a pair of pliers.
At night, the boys wake up once again, this time hearing a slicing noise. Outside the school they again find a mocking to the principals, just like last time, but this time being a stone sculpture that was made by slicing, like pliers, which makes it even more evident that Mantha is the one behind it. The principals call the Ghostly Trio back in to solve the problem the next day.
Alder and Dash then decide to punish all the students for not having found out who was the responsible, changing all the food in the cafeteria to just a type of green lettuce, which the students dislike. Casper tries again to talk to Mantha, but fails and annoys her even more, so he and the others decide to look up the creatures Mantha's two arms came from, and find out that they belonged to Bakora and Gremlin, with Casper exclaiming that Mantha could not have chosen worse arms than these.
It is later revealed that Mantha's arms had a life of their own, and that the whole thing was done by themselves. They end up rebelling and go to the main entrance of the Scare School, where they first destroy the Principal's office and try to attack the students, but are stopped by Mantha, who was not the real one at fault for the events from before, along with Casper and Ra. During the fight, Mantha's old arm appears and confronts the other two arms, throwing them into the water under the school bridge, ending with all the students and teachers being saved, and Mantha being happy to have her old arm back.
Mantha then finally appears in class with her old arm, and takes revenge on Thatch for mocking her and for his earlier accusations, knocking him into the classroom and humiliating him, thus ending the episode.
