Fang Decay is the first episode of Season One and the premiere episode of the TV series. It aired on October 5, 2009.
Synopsis[]
Thatch has got fang-ache, which is making him nervous, so Casper takes the time to help him so that he stops taking it out on others. Meanwhile, Mantha and Ra plan to go to their favorite band's concert in Deedstown with the tickets they have won.
Plot[]
A long line of students are waiting in agony to use the bathroom, which is being used by Thatch who was brushing his teeth. When Thatch finally comes out, he ends up distracting the first in line, Mosshead, with a scare, giving Quasi the chance to break the line, and making Mosshead wait again.
Thatch is then seen to be angry for some reason, and is continually taking it out on the other students, first dropping Slither's sugary eyeballs, causing Dummy Girl to slip on one of them, and then throwing Harpy at the cafeteria ceiling and throwing a spoon at Mosshead, causing a bump to grow on his head. Meanwhile, Mantha and Ra are excited about the latest song by their favorite band, My Chemistry Nightmare. Casper later discovers that Thatch has a pain in one of his fangs, and tells him that the problem was a cavity, but Thatch denies this, claiming that a vampire's fangs last forever.
Before class begins, Ra, Mantha, and Casper help Triclops, who has been trapped by Thatch in a locker in the classroom for claiming to have seen something in his mouth. Thatch then, again upset about the pain in his fang, crushes Professor Burns' apple , which is enough for Casper to be convinced that he needs help to avoid causing more trouble. After Burns schedules a difficult test for the afternoon as punishment for Thatch's behavior, Casper advises him to ask the nurse for help in anesthetizing his fang.
Thatch, however, ends up freaked out by the dangerous options the nurse chooses for the situation, and ends up running away after she suggests using a hammer when Casper asked if she could use something more sensitive. Thatch then refuses to continue receiving help from Casper for being tramautized thinking he might lose his fangs and "lose his power".
Casper then has the idea of taking Thatch to a human dentist after a talk with Ra and Mantha, but of course Thatch refuses at first, mainly because he despises humans, but later accepts after getting an F in Burns' test, thus catching a hidden ride on Cappy's ship with Casper to Deestown, along with Mantha and Ra, who want to buy tickets to see the My Chemistry Nightmare show that will take place in the theater.
In Deedstown, Mantha and Ra end up going through a huge line of people, without being able to scare anyone due to being mistaken for costumes, and when it is finally their turn, the tickets are sold out, so they try to forget about it and decide to go see how Thatch's case is going. At the dentist, Casper, disguised as a human, introduces Thatch to Dr. Bungleman, who can't see straight, so Casper convinces him that Thatch is a dog, to avoid trouble. Bungleman has agreed to take over the case since he loves animals.
Thatch is finally well and tries to thank Casper for his help, saying that he owes him one, but Casper tells him that he doesn't owe him anything, but that he should apologize to the others at school for his attitude, to which he grudgingly agrees. Then Bungleman hears about Ra and Mantha not being able to go to the concert, and gives them two tickets that he had won.
Back at the school, Ra and Mantha are happy that they went to the show, before being teased by Thatch, who is still the same old bully, however, he ends up tripping and spraining his ankle. Ra and Mantha stop Casper from helping him again and this time the job of caring for him is left to the nurse, much to Thatch's misfortune and despair.
