Stinky, Fatso, and Stretch, better known as the Ghostly Trio, are recurring characters in the film and series, and major characters in the Casper franchise. They are Casper's troublesome and mischievous uncles, who love to spend their time playing pranks and scaring humans, and who occasionally gets a scolding from Kibosh, the leader of the underworld, due to their nephew's innocent behavior, which is unbecoming in the Underworld. In the film, they, by order of Kibosh, send Casper to Scare School to learn how to scare in order to preserve the Balance and not be banished to the feared Valley of the Shadows, which has already happened several years ago to a member of their family. In the past, they were exemplary students themselves at Scare School until they graduated.

Biography[]

The Ghostly Trio resides in an old abandoned manor in Deedstown, near the residence of the town's creature hunter, Graham Bradley, with whom they often get into trouble. In the series, they spend most of their time vacationing in the manor, where they can be found by Casper for help in certain situations. They also like to keep the mansion as dirty and creepy as possible and occasionally go out to scare, travel, or have fun elsewhere.

Appearance[]

The Ghostly Trio, as the nickname implies, are three ghosts, blue-eyed, just like Casper. Each of them has a unique and distinctive look; Stretch is the tallest and slimmest of the trio, while Fatso, as the name implies is the most overweight, and Stinky is the most "average", being neither fat nor thin like the other two and also seems to be the shortest. They haven't changed much between their looks from the film to the series, only that their colors are much lighter and brighter in the series than they are in the film, just as they are with Casper.

Personality[]

The Ghostly Trio are widely known for their very mischievous and troublemaking behavior, occasionally pulling pranks and getting into mischief, and also scaring the humans, which they love to do. Their appearances in the film and series are notable for their less severe demeanor and more respectful behavior towards others than in their previous adaptations, while still retaining the dirty and creepy nature and interests that they always had. In the series it is revealed that the three have all graduated from Scare School and have been great exemplary students. They are also very kind and concerned about their nephew Casper, and are always willing to help him when needed.

Stretch[]

Stretch usually acts as a leader for the trio. He is very clever when it comes to mischief and pranks, and is also the one who always comes up with a plan to amuse the trio. Although he is also very respectful towards his brothers and concerned about his nephew, he is at the same time the most grumpy of the trio, so much so that he can lose his temper easily and occasionally fight and scold his brothers and nephew, though not yet so aggressively.

Fatso[]

Fatso is the most gluttonous of the trio, his main trait being his big food obsession, which explains his weight. He is as peaceful as Stretch and is always humorous and playful, and shows a good relationship with his brothers as well as his nephew, who he has shown to have great care for, getting quite sad and upset after he and his brothers were forced to send Casper to Scare School and get separated from them, even though they knew it had to be done since they didn't want him banished to the Valley of the Shadows.

Stinky[]

Stinky, as his name implies, is the dirtiest member of the Ghostly Trio, and is always bothering the others with his stench, to which he seems quite attached, so much so that he even considers him a friend. He is the smartest of the trio, being able to invent all sorts of different gadgets and gizmos, although most of the time they end up in unwanted ways, and he appears to have a major rivalry with Graham Bradley, who is also an inventor. Casper usually gets a lot of help from him in fixing things or inventing something that can help in certain situations.
