Too bad the goalie at the tryout won't be a ghost.

He is the son of Rebecca Bradley, and Graham Bradley, the creature catcher in town, and is also friends with Ra and Mantha.

Biography[]

Jimmy and Casper 2

Jimmy talking to Casper and the other creatures in "Monster Movie".

Jimmy is the son of Deedstown's only creature catcher, Graham Bradley, but what his father doesn't know is that his best friends are creatures, Ra, Mantha and his best friend, Casper.

He is a generally loner among the other kids, although he has been shown to have human friends on occasion as well, but is not seen hanging out with them as often.

Jimmy is also often mocked by the neighborhood bullies, most notably Norman, the skater who picks on all the other kids.

Appearance[]

Jimmy is a Caucasian boy with dark blue eyes and blond hair. He wears a blue striped shirt, light brown pants, and gray tennis shoes.

In his first appearance, in the film, he was wearing a plain blue shirt and black bracelets on both wrists.

Personality[]

Casper Scare School Movie (39)

Jimmy as he appears in the movie.

Jimmy is good-natured, kind and friendly, like his best friend Casper, showing pleasant and social behavior with others around him, but mostly with creatures, being probably the only human in Deedstown not to be afraid of them, in fact, quite the contrary, actually having a friendship with them, often appearing as the fourth member of the group of Casper, Mantha and Ra, who are his best friends, which also shows him to be quite brave. He apparently doesn't get along well with other humans his age, so he is constantly teased by the other kids.

He has all kinds of interests and is very fond of supernatural things, spending most of his time watching horror movies or reading the books of his biggest idol, Grendall Spinks, a famous horror writer. He is also very fond of wearing his red cap, which he calls his lucky cap.

Jimmy is also very smart and has shown himself to be quite skilled on some occasions, as he is mentioned by Casper in "Grimly Day" as someone very good at being serious and then ends up showing it really, winning a bet with another kid, and in the same episode he is also shown to be good at meditation. He is also very smart and helpful to his friends, occasionally using his computer to help them make important discoveries, and is always there for them when they are in town.

Despite his good nature, Jimmy can be a little troublesome at times, such as when he acquired a phantom power that allowed him to become invisible and float, where he ended up getting so excited that he began to take advantage of his powers to play pranks on the town, however, he ends up redeeming himself in the end. In addition, he has also shown to be vindictive, as he retaliated several times when he was mocked by bullies.

In the film, Jimmy is shown to be unreliable, getting it into his head that the real reason he plays well is because of Casper's presence, and is also upset when he hears about his leaving for the Scare School, becoming even more worried about losing the game. Regardless, he later finds out that he had no reason to be worried and managed to win the game, proving him wrong about what he told Casper earlier.

Even though Jimmy and his father have totally opposite opinions about creatures, they get along very well and have shown to have a good friendship, so much so that Jimmy even admires him for his work and his inventions, and even though he likes creatures, he still feels bad for him for never being able to capture any, and for the jokes he gets from others about it.

Relationships[]

Casper[]

Casper and Jimmy

Casper in Jimmy's house.

Jimmy is Casper's human friend and also apparently his only friend before he was sent to Scare School.

Casper and Jimmy have probably the most positive relationship in the series, being great friends and loyal and helpful to each other. The only time there was a disagreement between the two was in the movie, where Jimmy was first disappointed that Casper had to go to Scare School and couldn't watch his football game, and later on was scared off by him; however, in the series, Jimmy has shown himself to be much more understanding of the situations that his ghost friend has to go through, although this doesn't stop him from finding a way out of school to spend time having fun with Jimmy, who also often visits Casper's haunted manor when his uncles are away, where he has fun playing with Casper.

Jimmy is always grateful when he receives help from Casper for any situation and knows that he can always count on him, and, just like Ra and Mantha, he is always available to help him too, so much so that he even has to interrupt his father's creature hunter job to help Casper in certain situations, like when some of his classmates are caught by his father, he will do everything to try to make him stop, but keeping his friendship with Casper and the other creatures a secret.

Their friendship is kept secret so as not to cause problems for those known to both of them, such as Jimmy's father, who hates creatures, and the principals of Casper's school, who hate "fleshies". The few people who have known about their friendship have also been trusted to keep it a secret.

Mantha[]

Mantha and Jimmy

Jimmy and Mantha.

Like Casper, Mantha is a close friend of Jimmy. The friendship between the two presumably began after the events of the film.

They often help each other out in difficult situations, such as in "Fearless Freddie", where Jimmy pretends to be scared by Mantha so that she can pass one of the scare tests.

As with Ra, Mantha appears to be playful with Jimmy, as in "Ghost in the Gallery", where she and Ra mock his father for not catching any creatures.

Despite their positive friendship, Mantha, like Ra, can get upset that Casper pays more attention to Jimmy than he does to them at times.

Ra[]

The relationship between Jimmy and Ra is very little explored, however, it is known that Ra is also a friend of Jimmy and also keeps his friendship with a human a secret.

In the episode "Jimmy Bradley: Creature Catcher", Ra's quickly comes to the conclusion that Jimmy is betraying him and his other friends when he sees him at his father's creature-catching job.

Norman[]

Jimmy and Norman

Jimmy and Norman in "Black Cat".

Norman is Jimmy's biggest bully. Both despise each other, Jimmy because of Norman's bully and teasing nature, and Norman simply because he likes to have fun picking on the other kids.

Sometimes, Norman seems to have a very exaggerated anger towards Jimmy, as in "A Real Little Monster", where he chases him with the intention of hitting him, and later sends a message to him, saying that he will make a necklace with each one of his teeth.

Jimmy often retaliates when Norman is bothering him too much, and for that he enlists the help of Casper to carry out plans to punish him.

The two finally hit it off and presumably become friends at the end of "Jimmy's Trunk Call", where, after returning to Jimmy's house from the Forbidden Forest, Norman apologizes for making fun of Jimmy for being a Boy Scout and even gives him a hug.
