My generation has to hold the zombie banner up a little higher! That's all.
Mantha is an independent zombie who studies at Scare School. She, as well as her best friends, Casper and Ra, is one of the nicest students in the school and is always willing to help others solve their problems and also supports the right of equality among creatures.
She joined Scare School mainly to achieve her goal of showing that zombies are also scary creatures, getting high marks on her scare assignments and being almost an expert on the subject.
On the Pirate Ship to school, she meets Casper and Ra, who also have difficulty with scares, and befriends them.
Overall[]

Mantha, like Casper and Ra, is not so well accepted at Scare School, simply because she is a species despised by the underworld, which leads her to be a target of mockery from other students and even teachers, although it doesn't go so far as to being a target of bullying or letting someone like Thatch, whom she despises, bother her. Even though she is the toughest in Casper's group, she is still quite peaceful and helpful and is always available to help not only them, but also others, in any kind of situation. Despite her goal of scaring humans to raise her species name, she is also quite friendly with Jimmy Bradley, Casper's human friend, whom she and Ra met after the events of the film.
Appearance[]

Mantha in Season 2
Mantha is a zombie with dark purple eyes, pale dirty blue skin, and long ragged dark blue hair. She wears dirty torn purple pants, black and white tennis shoes with pink accents, and a long black shirt, also dirty, underneath an torn dark pink one, with a print of a yellow flower with white petals and a black background over a wave-shaped circular illustration.
In her previous appearance, she wasn't much different, but she had pink eyes instead of purple, and had a completely different print of a flower.
Personality[]

Mantha is very playful, but also very brave and smart; she usually gets good grades in evaluations and likes to help others, especially her best friends, Casper and Ra, in whatever situation they are going through, no matter what it is.
Just like her two friends, Mantha is on the side of the friendly students, always willing to help anyone. Even though she is generally peaceful and stands out as one of the nice students, at the same time she is also among the bravest and toughest students at Scare School, knowing how to stand up to bullies, as well as protecting the weaker students who are constantly bullied, like Triclops. Despite this, she still often gets teased by other students, including Thatch, although she doesn't hesitate to retaliate when she is being bullied too much or when she is angry.
Very different from Casper, who is totally against any kind of cruelty to humans, Mantha claims to be in favor of the scare methods and lessons that are taught at Scare School, so much so that her only goal in signing up there was to prove that zombies can also be quite scary, however, she still respects Casper's side, just like Ra, although they can be seen arguing over it at times, notably when Casper's kindness is being overdone or breaking the rules of Scare School, or when it is going too much against the creatures' habits.

Mantha in "Scare Day"
Mantha is always trying hard to show that she has great potential to be a scary creature to others in order to prove that zombies are on the same standing as the other species of the Underworld and that they don't deserve to be teased, so much so that she joined Scare School with the main goal of impressing the others by getting good scores on scare ratings and showing the importance of zombies in the Underworld so that they will finally stop being rejected by the other creatures, and this without getting carried away by the mocking of the others around her.
Most of the time, her efforts end up being very successful and advancing her goal of changing others' opinions about zombies, such as winning hard competitions and getting good grades in scaring human assessments, although there are also times when her plans go wrong, although this is never enough to make her give up. She is also in favor of equality and respect among all kinds of creatures, so much so that she has already run for class president to establish new rules to have more respect among the students and make sure that no one is excluded.
Mantha shows a very good capacity in class, attending most of them and being interested in her teachers' lessons, but her favorite subject seems to be History, mainly because of the stories of the Underworld that are told in class, which she shows a lot of interest in. Despite this, in "Grimly Day", she mentions her grades as not being "one of the best". Her acting in the scare trips in Deedstown are also good in general, although they sometimes fail.
She also seems to be easily angered, especially in comparison to the other students, getting easily annoyed at anything bad that might happen, especially towards her, so much so that she gets angry even at Casper and Ra when they do something wrong, which is shown several times throughout the series, but especially in "Vote for Casper", where she fights with Casper for the entire episode for running against her for class president, even though she didn't know it was out of Kibosh's obligation. This behavior however happens less frequently in the second season.
Powers and Abilities[]
As a zombie, Mantha can easily lose any limb of her body while still maintaining control. Her limbs can also rarely have control of their own, which despite being seen only once, has been stated to be an occasional zombie situation.

Relationships[]
Casper[]

Mantha meets Casper.
Mantha is one of Casper's best friends, along with Ra. She and Casper get along very well, and always help and support each other in difficult times, as Mantha constantly helps Casper in the troubles he has to face due to his innocent nature not well accepted at school, as well as he helps her in her goal of raising the zombies' name and proving that they should not be despised.
The two generally show respect for each other's interests and opinions; Mantha accepts and likes Casper for who he is, and understands and accepts his more innocent nature and not liking to scare, which is, in her case, a good thing, which Casper also respects, and even helps her in her scares to humans, although only in really necessary situations.
Although both respect each other's positions, sometimes they can have disagreements and even fights because of their differences, which in most cases, is due to Casper's behavior, like the times he makes negative comments about the rules of the Scare School, which is enough for him and Mantha to start an argument. Even though they have their disagreements from time to time, they always make up and redeem themselves in the end.
In season 2, Mantha seems to have become much closer to Casper, showing herself to be a more loyal friend, and their moments of fighting have also diminished; This is probably due to the more mischievous and rebellious behavior that Casper acquired in season 2, becoming more like her, and sometimes they can even be seen hanging out together, without Ra's presence, who used to be Mantha's closer friend in season 1. speaking of Ra, Casper and Mantha are also often seen together laughing or making fun of him because of his antics or because he is more easily scared, although of course they don't get to be aggressive.
Ra[]
Mantha is probably Ra's best friend before Casper.
Ra and Mantha are always seen hanging out and having fun together, sometimes with Casper, sometimes without him, implying that she is a much closer friend to Ra than Casper is.
Mantha and Ra always count on each other's help, as in "Vote for Casper", where Ra agreed to side with Mantha for class president. The two also share some interests, such as liking the band My Chemistry Nightmare.
Although they are shown to be great friends, they still have several moments where they argue or have a falling out, as Mantha is constantly annoyed by Ra's clumsy behavior. Mantha also, like Casper, tries to act as a good influence on Ra, telling him what is the right thing to do.
In season 2, the two still remain good friends, however, as with Casper, Mantha's respect for Ra has slightly declined, as she is constantly seen mocking or laughing at Ra for being easily scared (usually along with Casper), even if they are always innocent, they often end up bothering Ra, in addition, Casper seems to replace Ra as Mantha's best friend, while Ra still treats his zombie friend well, although he can't resist making fun of her sometimes.
Thatch[]

Mantha meeting Thatch for the first time.
Mantha, like Casper and Ra, dislikes Thatch because of his meanness and meanness. Thatch also dislikes her for being in Casper's group and for being a zombie, a species he considers a joke. The two quickly fell out as soon as they met on Cappy's ship.
In the series, the two have a greater rivalry, as in "Scare Day", where Mantha and Thatch make a bet involving winning Super Boo Trophy; After Mantha wins, Thatch makes up for his loss, which was to make Mantha a brain stew for a month.
In "Disarmed and Dangerous", Thatch continually blames Mantha for the damage that is happening at the school, and ends up getting his punishment at the end, being humiliated by her in front of the entire class.
Mantha seems to have become less harsh on Thatch in season 2, even as his meanness has increased, though she still dislikes him. In "Thatch My Idol", Mantha is affected by the magical scent that makes everyone like Thatch, and begins to praise and agree with him over and over again.
Triclops[]

Mantha with Triclops.
Mantha is probably Triclops' closest friend, as shown in "Triclops Mistress of Darkness", where they interacted the most.
In the episode, Triclops showed a great liking for Mantha, always thanking her for her help and for being on her side.
Mantha also showed herself to be a good influence to Triclops, always supporting her and giving her tips to solve her problems.
Their friendship becomes even more noticeable later on when Triclops refers to Mantha as "the best" after she has fixed her balaclava.
Quasi[]
Mantha has some minor interactions with Quasi. In "The Bellyache Mystery", Mantha showed concern towards Quasi after the rumor that he was eaten by the Sea Monster. After his revelation about being a dancer, he reveals that he can't dance properly because he has two left feet, Mantha then tries to cheer him up by saying that he can improve if he practices more.
The two were also seen sitting together in the school cafeteria in "Crypt Critters" and "Radio Blodge".
The two have shown a negative relationship once in "Love Potion", when Quasi is changed by the love potion, he goes to Mantha and says he wanted to talk to her, right before he kisses her hand, resulting in her walking away while telling him to get out.
Alder and Dash[]
Like most of the other students, Mantha dislikes the school principals for their unnecessary meanness and their sadistic and punitive behavior towards students. Despite this, she never raises her voice to them, which is a smart decision considering they could easily banish her from the school.
In "Master Blister", Mantha starts a plan to punish Alder and Dash and convinces all students to contribute, which eventually results in a new principal who is even worse than the old ones.
Mosshead[]
In "Messy Business at the Manor", Mantha seems to dislike Mosshead, claiming that he will ruin Casper's vacation after being invited to the Manor.
In "The Day The Professor Croaked", Mantha and Mosshead seemed to get along well, with Mantha promising, along with Casper and Ra, not to tell anyone about Mosshead's pet, and she was not upset by his presence in her gang throughout the episode.
Other than that, they don't have much interaction.
Harpy[]
Harpy and Mantha seem to be good friends, which was shown in "My Fair Harpy" when she tries her best to teach Harpy to dance and prepare her for school dance, however, their relationship only was addressed only once.
Trivia[]
- Mantha's parents made an appearance in the episode "Stage Fright", where they are seen among the other parents to watch the school play, however, they only appear as body parts (eyes and arms), so it is not known what they look like.
- In "Fang Decay" Mantha states that her afterlife is complete after having watched the My Chemistry Nightmare concert, implying that she actually was once a human, unlike most of the other students who were always creatures.
